Yes.
Rooted Heart Yoga offers a comprehensive 200-hour, all-levels yoga teacher training program. Rooted Heart is a Registered Yoga School with Yoga Alliance.

Yes.
Our teacher training is based at Four Corners Yoga, located at 8959 N. Chestnut Avenue in Fresno, California.

Yes.
Our training is designed for students with a wide range of yoga experience. You do not need to have an advanced practice to apply.

No.
You do not need to be especially flexible or physically fit to participate. Yoga is not about achieving a particular shape. Our training explores modifications and options that make the practice accessible to different bodies and abilities.

Some students join Rooted Heart because they want to teach, while others simply want to deepen their practice and learn more about yoga. Both paths are welcome.

Most of the training takes place in person at Four Corners Yoga, but a small portion is completed through Zoom.

Yes.
Students receive weekly “Omwork” and are required to take yoga classes outside of the scheduled training weekends. This helps students apply what they are learning and experience different teachers, styles, and approaches to yoga.

Different portions of the curriculum are taught by teachers with experience in different areas. You can learn more about the people guiding the program on our Teachers page.

Yes.
Our teaching team brings experience in areas including yoga philosophy, trauma-informed yoga, anatomy and biomechanics, Ayurveda, meditation, sound healing, hands-on adjustments, and the business of yoga.

Yes.
Trauma-informed teaching is an important part of the Rooted Heart curriculum. Students learn how to support choice, safety, accessibility, and nervous system regulation in their classes.

Trauma-informed yoga training is not therapy, and it does not teach yoga teachers to diagnose or treat trauma. It teaches students how to create yoga spaces that feel steady, supportive, and respectful of each person’s choices.

Yes. The curriculum includes asana, yoga history and philosophy, sacred texts, pranayama, meditation, mindfulness, anatomy, biomechanics, the subtle body, Ayurveda, trauma-informed teaching, sound healing, teaching methodology, and the business of yoga.

Yes.
Students learn how to build sequences, offer modifications, create class themes, develop their authentic teaching voice, and guide students through a complete yoga experience.

Yes.
Practice teaching is an important part of the training. Students have opportunities to apply what they are learning and become more comfortable leading others.

Training in hands-on adjustments is offered as part of the program, but students are not required to give or receive adjustments.
The Training Experience

The 2027 cohort runs from January through June, with one scheduled training weekend each month.

Yes.
Students are expected to attend all of the scheduled training weekends because each part of the curriculum contributes to the full 200-hour program. We also understand that unexpected situations can arise, and we are willing to work with students when they do.

If something comes up, contact us as soon as possible. We will work with you to determine how the missed material or training hours can be completed.
Schedules and Attendance

Yes.
Total tuition for the program is $3,333. A $500 nonrefundable deposit is due after acceptance to reserve your place in the cohort. The remaining tuition balance is $2,833.

We offer flexible payment plans and will work with accepted students to create an arrangement that works for them.

Prospective students must complete an application before enrolling in the program.

We review each application to make sure the program is a good fit for the prospective student and that Rooted Heart can support what they hope to gain from the experience.

Yes.
Applications will be accepted until the training begins in January or until the cohort is full, whichever happens first.

Yes.
Space is limited so that we can create a connected and supportive learning environment. Applying early is recommended.

The books and training materials required for the program are included in tuition.

There are no additional required Rooted Heart program fees beyond the stated tuition. Students who choose to register with Yoga Alliance after graduation will complete that process separately and pay any applicable Yoga Alliance fees.
Tuition and Applications

Yes.
Students who successfully complete all program requirements will receive a certificate showing that they have completed Rooted Heart Yoga’s 200-hour teacher training.

No.
After completing the program, graduates are eligible to apply separately for the RYT 200 credential through Yoga Alliance. Registration with Yoga Alliance is optional and is not automatic.

Yes.
If teaching is your goal, the program will prepare you to plan classes, guide students, offer accessible options, and begin developing your own voice as a yoga teacher.

Yes.
Rooted Heart supports graduates as they begin looking for opportunities to share what they have learned. While a specific teaching position cannot be guaranteed, students leave with community connections and practical guidance for taking their next steps.

Yes.
The relationships built during teacher training do not have to end at graduation. Graduates can remain connected to Rooted Heart, their teachers, and fellow members of their cohort.

Yes.
Graduates may have opportunities to remain involved with Namaste for Compassion and support its work of making yoga available within the community.
